This short course will introduce educators and clinicians to the concept of contemporary patient safety issues and quality improvement.
Course to be held at Clinical Skills Centre and the Dow Clinical Simulation Suite at the University of Dundee Medical School Ninewells Hospital Dundee between 2nd and 6th February 2015 and will include all course material, tuition and lunch.
Detailed Description
This course will focus on the practical application of quality improvement methodology and the impact of patient safety at clinical level.
By the end of the week you should be able to :
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient safety issues and Quality Improvement (QI) methodology
Critically appraise evidence on human erro, human safety, patient safety and QI
Devise, implement and evaluate a QI project based on own practice
Critically analyse the role of human factors and non-technical skills
Critically reflect upon the application of patient safety and QI in clinical practice
